"For Marsha"

                                                      (Cultural Betrayal Scene)

The Stonewall Inn, the Greenwich Village bar that played a crucial role in the gay-rights movement, was given landmark status by New York City last year, but the Associated Press reports the Obama administration will do even more to distinguish the site.

According to "two individuals familiar with the administration's plans," the president will name the bar the first national monument for gay rights — he's reportedly considering proposals that would involve cordoning off Christopher Park, a small sliver of land near Stonewall Inn, and surrounding areas.

Federal officials, including Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis, are traveling to New York for a May 9 meeting about the proposal, according to the Washington Post. City officials are still looking into the land's title, but barring any complications, Stonewall should be declared a national monument as early as next month — just in time for Pride Month and New York City's famous parade.

(Lifted without shame from the mainstream press.)

Gee...thanks.

Only took 50 years. Come to think of it this was pretty fast. That, and I have profound reservations of what the alleged community has morphed into in that time. A far rightward drift..."We're just like you" whooie, and assorted noise to make 'some' of us palatable.

Btw...We're not like 'you' not even a little.

We're very different. Different enough to be assaulted, and bullied into suicide. However our uniqueness has been sacrificed so we can have our own sit-coms, and get married. I still look forward to that daytime TV show..."Gay Divorce Court".

Oh one more thing. "Stonewall" was a riot a revolt not a parade of stroller pushers. The first rock was thrown by a friend of mine Marsha Johnson a Black Transvestite. She was later found murdered. There should be a monument to her,...but ya know yeah. Never.

There's Masha above, and below there "...how ya doing kid?"

Back in the early 1970's She, and a bunch of other perverts, and myself were involved in publishing a Queer "zine called "Gay Post" we had a bleeping ball!

Ha! I'm trying to imagine Marsha, and the original Stonewall soldiers runaways chicken hawks street people, and underclass drag queens being invited to any of the Black Tie Evening Gown events that the stroller pushers hold for themselves today.

Their evil hearts should explode in their greedy bigoted chests!

From Wikipedia.....In July 1992, Johnson's body was found floating in the Hudson River off the West Village Piers shortly after the 1992 Pride March. Police ruled the death a suicide.

Johnson's friends and supporters said she was not suicidal, and a people's campaign later declared that Johnson had earlier been harassed near the spot where her body was found. Initial attempts to get the police to investigate the cause of death were unsuccessful.

After lobbying by activist Mariah Lopez, in November 2012 the New York police department re-opened the case as a likely homicide.

Stay Tuned.
